CHARACTER INFO
Name: Kairi
Gender: Female
Source: Kingdom Hearts
Canon point: Post-KH3D
Age: 15
Colour: #F00179
Chumhandle: subaquaticStargazer

History: Kairi was born in Radiant Garden, where she lived with her grandmother until the world was destroyed by Xehanort's actions. While she was there, she encountered Aqua, and accidentally inherited her Keyblade while Aqua was saving her from the floods. Since arriving at Destiny Islands, she lived a fairly peaceful life until the islands were taken over by darkness, as a result of the actions of Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, who is also related to Xehanort. (What asshats.) She was taken into Sora's heart, as she did not lose her physical form. Presumably because she is also a PRINCESS OF HEART!!! Wow.
She managed to wake up eventually, but only because Sora stabbed himself in the chest and turned into an adorable heartless for a little bit. Kairi saved his heartless ass from the other heartless who totally knew he wasn't apart of da krew. So Sora fights Ansem, yadda yadda, Riku locks himself behind a door because he was an asshole, yadda yadda, Kairi gets left behind on the islands. Sora falls for a shitload of tricks, Kairi forgets all about him while he's sleeping and regaining his memories.
THEN after she starts remembering him (having remembered Riku ALL ALONG which isn't all too surprising because wow, hot a what) she's like, "fuck this waiting bullshit" and Axel (mega hottie) is all "don't wait, act. one of life's little , got it memorized?" But Kairi totally recognizes that, wow, black coats are entirely fucking suspicious and so are weird monster things, so she just runs into a black portal with a weird looking dog (pluto) and ends up in Twilight Town, where she hangs out with Hayner, Pence, and Olette. (Seifer probably falls in love with her too I don't even know.) THEN Axel captures her, while everyone stands by slackjawed. GREAT JOB EVERYONE, Y'ALL ARE TRULY HEROES. So then Saix probably gets her too, but Namine breaks her out, showing that bitches get stuff done.
Kairi and Namine are running together, Saix tries to be sneaky, Kairi and Namine prepare to kick some major MOON BUDDY ASS. Riku gets there first though, whatever, they were merciful that time. Kairi sees Sora, she's all ready to save him, JUMPS FROM A FUCKIN BALCONY and then realizes, OH WAIT, FISTS DON'T HURT HEARTLESS so Riku backs a girl up and gives her THE KEYBLADE, which is also cool, like her. She knocks most of them out in like, one hit, which usually takes til level 40 or something? What a bamf.
She tries to help fight Xemnas, who is also related to Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, and Xehanort. (Organization XIII? More like Organization Asshats.) HOWEVER Xemnas pulls out some prime bullshit, and saves himself from her cold keyblade steel. Wimp. Riku and Sora defeat Xemnas, blah blah blah, get trapped in the Realm of Darkness (which is not only dark, but pretty realmy) and Kairi sends them some of her POETRY, which opens up a door. (The door is actually her winning tons of fucking awards for being GOOD AT WRITING.)
Happy reunion, Riku, Sora, and Kairi end up chilling together on the islands presumably feeling no sense of adventure because wow that's enough to last a lifetime (not really) when Sora and Riku receive a letter from DA KING, MICKEY saying that they need to take some sort of test. (Wow, what is this, school or something???) They end up taking their mark of mastery test, which involves a lot of sleeping which Kairi probably thinks is bullshit because their school never tested them on sleeping.
AND, OH WAIT!!
She ends up stuck on the islands. Alone. Again.
Worst. Friends. Ever.
(SPOILER ALERT: Riku brings her in for backup after he passes the test wITH FLYING COLORS so they can train her to use DE KEYBLAHD properly but I'm at least 100000% sure she's already a pro, so)
(and that's how she became the Prince of Bel-Air.)
Personality: While her lineage points otherwise, Kairi could probably pass for a princess. She is kind, charismatic, wise, and brave, for the most part. She finds it rather easy to make friends with others, partly due to her own intuition. It can be pretty difficult to gain her complete trust, but once gotten, it's even harder to lose. Kairi sticks by her friends through and through, even when they've made some questionable decisions.
She is intelligent, academically, and wise when it comes to decision making; however, Kairi is sometimes too hasty when it comes to protecting those she cares about most. This gets her into trouble frequently, but she hasn't died yet, so it's considered an overall success.
Despite her friendly personality, Kairi is unafraid to speak her mind; presuming the situation calls for it, of course. (It usually does.) She isn't one to blurt out whatever comes to mind, but she's not exactly bashful about her opinions.
Kairi feels most like herself in Destiny Islands. While she acknowledges Radiant Gardens as her birthplace, Kairi finds it hard to connect to the people or places anymore. She feels a significant amount of guilt, feeling that she should be more "homesick" for Radiant Gardens than Destiny Islands, which turns into more guilt; after all, the mayor did raise her. She struggles with her sense of "cultural" identity, regardless of the fact that she left the Gardens when she was only 5.
Abilities & physical limitations: While Kairi seems to scare away the unversed, the Heartless and Nobodies don't appear to give a fuck if she's a Princess of ~*whatever*~ or not. Actually, they probably like attacking her more because of it. While her Princess of Heart abilities provide some protection from the darkness, it doesn't make her immune to its effects, that proof being Namine. Her necklace, charmed with a protection spell cast by Aqua, also appears to give her some luck as well. However, she's mostly on her own. Kairi is fairly slow, but can hit pretty hard for a girl her height. Even if she's a hard-hitter, she's not nearly as advanced with her Keyblade as Sora and Riku are, and as such, doesn't have a very good grasp of magic.
Appearance: Auburn hair, about shoulder length, purple eyes, and sort of tan-ish skin. She usually wears a pink dress with three zippers aligned along the dress in a princess seam style, with the functioning one in the middle. (Kingdom Hearts and zippers, right?) Underneath that (because the dress does not actually have any straps, whoops) she has a white halter top with a black hood (Kingdom Hearts and hoods, right?) She has a few bangles, and pink high tops, but other than her trademark silver necklace that's about as complicated as she gets.
Notable AU differences from canon, if applicable: She's a megababe OH WAIT

Strife Specibus: Keybladekind
Prototyping: Accidentally prototypes a Malayasian black and gold huntsman spider, "lovingly" referred to as SpidAUGHsprite. (Do not google if you are afraid of spiders.)
Title: Dame of Lock
In-game abilities: As the Dame of Lock Kairi has the innate ability to "open" or "close" doors of opportunity, previously unnoticable. However, she is unable to open or lock these doors for her own benefit, unless it would benefit others as well. Further more, she cannot "trick" the game into believing it is for another when it would only help Kairi herself; it is truly a passive and teamwork based role. These "doors of opportunity" can mean places to hide, to recuperate, to attack, or whichever. If not a god tier, she has minimal use of these powers and only can 'sense' where these paths would be; peeking through the keyhole, so to speak.
Planet: Her planet is the Land of Waves and Crystal, which, under the control of Scylla, a Denizen that resides in the very center of the main ocean, has become more like the Land of Whirlpools and Crystal. Her cohorts are Fancy Seagulls, who adorn themselves in the flower-like crystals that bloom around the land. However, many of the Seagulls continue to go hungry, as Scylla devours the fish in the oceans and generally makes it too dangerous for them to even fly towards the shores. To save them, Kairi must either defeat Scylla, or calm her rage. As always, there is more than one way to get to any location.

RP Sample: Kairi finds it strange; that rush of adrenaline, just by wielding the blade in her hands. "Destiny's Embrace," is its name, she's told. People name inanimate objects, and she knows that's just a fact of life, but there's just something about knowing her own keyblade's name. Like it's some sort of ancient magic, and simply being able to let the words cross her lips gives her power over one of the strongest weapons forged. (Not that anyone could tell just by looking at it; but every rose has its thorn, no?)
There's no one out on the beach to help her practice, Kairi notices. Not like she blames them! After all, everyone's older now and busy, even if the fate of the universe may be at risk. (She fakes bitter comments, in all honesty. In fact, it would probably be too dangerous to train against them, anyway. Kairi certainly didn't want to be the one to kill their old friends on accident.)
Regardless of whether or not she has sparring mates or not, she must absolutely has-to practice, practice, practice. So Kairi sets herself up against trees and old dummies, and trying to strike airborn coconuts. The trees and the fruit don't help Kairi any with magic, but she thinks she's gotten better at her aim, and maybe her strength. Or at the very least, she doesn't sway along with Destiny's Embrace every time she swings it. With every slash at her sparring tree (which sounds more ridiculous each time) she gets better at not getting the keyblade so jammed in.
And, of course, being the studious girl she is, Kairi makes notes.
This time, it's, "slash-dodge-slash, and a dodge roll attempt thrown in. When swinging, remember to dig into the sand, knees wide," she mumbles, only to herself. "Don't keep the weight into the swing. Shoulders back, not too hard; I'm not going to cut this tree down." She tightens her grip on the blade, and follows each step and
forgets one, maybe. She says several unladylike words, before kicking into the tree.
Naturally, it gets stuck in again.
"Maybe this is good," Kairi says aloud, to herself in particular. "Maybe this is just a sign that I can do this." She sighs, and plops down on the ground, legs crossed and her head cradled in her hands.
"I hope."
